Description of the organisation
GFE ENERGY MANAGEMENT Italy is part of an international consulting company, GFE INTERNATIONAL, dealing with energy and environment related matters.
GFE ENERGY MANAGEMENT S.R.L. (GFE Italy) started activities in Italy in 1995 and today the office employs 10 people working.
GFE Italy develops its core activities supporting the energy supply aspects of industrial and commercial customers:
- Technical consultancy to industrial and service companies on energy related matters, focusing on cost reduction through rational use of energy.
- Consultancy to industrial and service companies on environmental related matters, focusing on correct environmental policies.
- Permanent assistance to Italian companies in managing their energy costs.
Staff professional skills:
GFE Staff includes also qualified engineers from energy and environment sectors, in particular their professional skills are:
- Specific experience in energy management.
- Specific knowledge of national and international markets.
- Specific internally developed technical tools (measuring equipment, dedicated software, etc.).
- Experience of energy consumption and energy demand profiles.
- Environmental protection and analysis.
- Planning Cogeneration plants (CHP);
- Specific knowledge of renewable energies sources (RES).
- Biomass and bio energy
- Biofuels
GFE Activity
GFE provides auditing services to Italian and international industrial and services clients. In particular GFE works for some of the major consumers in Italy, aiming to improve energy efficiency, rational use of sources (electricity, natural gas, Renewable Energy Sources) and taking care of the environment.
Participation in EU projects such as SAVE, ALTENER, STEER, FP6, INTERREG.
List of most relevant projects
GFE Italy was sub-contractor in the REGEN II Programme of the European Union as Auditor for the electrical link between Greece and Italy.
GFE Italy and GFE Spain were contractors in the SAVE II programme for a project regarding the use of small/medium size cogeneration technologies.
GFE carried out a project on energy efficiency in the hotel sector planning Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plants and taking into consideration the possibility of Heat Pumps. The CHP plant was designed and a screening activity was conducted for Heat Pumps analysis and implementation.
GFE Italy was involved as partner in the ACTICON proposal under the FP6 Programme (actually under evaluation). This project specifically addresses area 6.1.3.1.1.1. of sustainable energy systems work programme. “Kick-starting Si-feedstock production by EU industries to secure a reliable and affordable supply for fostering PV cell cost reductions”.
GFE Italy was involved as trainer in a proposal at local level concerning the energy sector. The project was funded under POR ob. 3 (EU training calls funded at local level) within a Tuscany Region call.
Topics: The energy sector, legislation, electricity and natural gas markets, Rational Use of energy, Renewable Energy Sources, Cogeneration (CHP), and other energy sector related issues. Lessons were held showing slides and relevant case histories.
